Fall Preview
Summer wasn't that productive in terms of output. Not a whole lot of photo taking, somehow I am not alarmed by this. I've written before about how that cycle of shooting photos and posting them on the web didn't really work well for me in terms of depth and significance. The work will come, I have a few projects that are on pre-production stage and met amazing, talented people to help me execute them. Watch this space in the next following month.
But all wasn't lost during the last few months. I took a documentary photography at Harvard Summer School and since I'm out at electronic music events at least two or three times a week I picked that scene as my project. I didn't want it to be party photography, there are people doing that stuff right now that are better than me but I wanted to capture the event and the post-party people. I shot film 4x5 and two and a quarter but the images that worked for me ended up always being the ones shot in digital -- someday it's going to be hard to explain to young people how hard was to shoot in low light situations before digital photography. I can shoot hand-held 1600 wide open all night long. Try pushing Tri-X to do that kind of stuff, no thanks.
This is a photo of the Raster-Noton R.P.M. show (www.raster-noton.de) at Middlesex Lounge presented by Non-Event and Make it New.
